Here's information about the various versions of the Polycom People+Content products

People+Content is the ability for a video conference participant to introduce content from a laptop, PC or Macintosh into the call so that all participants can see the Content and the speaker at the same time.

Face-to-face meetings are enhanced with high-resolution content from a PC or laptop.

There are several different product options available depending on the Polycom videoconferencing system that you are working with. This page shows the items numbers and the product options available.

VSX People+Content for the VSX 7000e, VSX 8000 models

 

 

People+Content is the ability for a video conference participant to introduce content from a laptop, PC or Macintosh into the call so that all participants can see the Content and the speaker at the same time.

 

 
  • Includes ImageShare II, and/or VGA encoder license and/or People+Content IP
  • Easily share data from your PC
  • Connect a laptop or PC directly to the VGA connection on the back of the codec, or use the ImageShare II device to connect the PC
  • Data files that can be shared include presentations, movie files, audio files, pictures, graphics and other documents
  • Access and share the Internet with others in the conference
  • ImageShare II has XGA (1280 x 1024) input from laptop, audio from laptop, blue button to stop and start data sharing; integrated 25 foot VGA cable and 4 foot laptop-to-pod VGA cable.

  • Visual Concert VSX has (3) 10/100 Ethernet ports and serves as a mini-hub; XGA (1280 x 1024) input from laptop; XGA (1024 x 768) input from projector; stop and start button to easily activate data sharing; no special settings or software configurations needed.

By adding the Polycom People+Content option to your VSX you can show slides, graphics, audio and video files, or any application while you’re in a video call. Simply connect your laptop to the  Visual Concert VSX, included in the People+Content option, and you’re connected – easily.

With People+Content, the high-quality video is preserved while simultaneously sharing high-resolution data. The ultimate meeting experience!

People+Content™ IP 


 Share content in a video conference over an IP network connection!

Now sharing content is even easier for all V500 and VSX video users.  Through a simple software tool, presenters in a video conference can show Content (PowerPoint slides, Excel spreadsheets, CAD drawings, Visio drawings, or any other laptop material) during a video conference so that all participants can see the information.
 
  • Show content from laptop/PC over IP network connection
  • No resolution input adjustments required on presenter's laptop/PC
  • Supports CIF, SIF, 4CIF, 4SIF, VGA, SVGA, XGA display resolutions
  • Zoom control
  • PC Utility available for unlimited download (required for each presenter's laptop/PC)
  • Supports Windows 2000 and Windows XP

Before using a computer to show content with People+Content IP, you need to:

  • Enable People+Content IP on the VSX system by purchasing and installing a software license for this option.
  • Install the People+Content IP software application on the computer(s) that the presenter will use to show content. This software is available for download at www.polycom.com/videosoftware.
  • You don't need to change the computer resolution or need special cables or hardware, but your PC should meet the following requirements:
    • Operating System: Windows 2000, Windows XP Home, or Windows XP Professional
    • Minimum computer must be: 500 MHz Pentium III (or equivalent); 256 MB memory
    • Recommended computer: 1 GHz Pentium III (or equivalent); 500 MB memory
  • Connect the computer and the VSX system to the IP network

Product Compatibility:  V500, VSX Series, VSX 8000. The item numbers to be ordered vary depending on the videoconferencing system that will be using the software. See details on these item numbers earlier in this web page.
