The Situation and
Opportunity: In a typical modern
conference room with a group videoconferencing system
(using IP or ISDN - H.323 or H.320 - for communications), there is a large screen
monitor (LCD/Plasma/Projector
screen), and a high
quality PTZ camera, mics and speakers.
Most Skype users have a webcam, a PC/Laptop
screen, mic and speakers . . . but the quality of the video, the audio, and the user
experience can be greatly enhanced with use of upgraded PTZ cameras,
mics and speakers. This upgrade is particularly needed if there is a group
of people at your location (e.g. in a conference room).
Solution: You can add one
or more of the following items:
-
Kit S for Skype - adds a
Sony EVI-D70 PTZ camera kit to your Skype video calls.
-
VSS-USB2 - a kit so you
can use your existing videoconferencing system camera and mics
as a high quality PTZ webcam and mic for Skype
- via your own Windows PC/Laptop.
-
VSS-1 Streaming and
Recording System - lets you use your
existing cameras and audio system, or your H.323 or H.320 conference room/group
videoconferencing system, or a Sony EVI-D70 (PTZ) Pan, Tilt Zoom camera . . . for Skype video calls.
-
Wireless Mics for
Skype - wireless mics for small or large groups making or
receiving Skype calls.
-
USB Speaker Phones
for Skype - hands free speaker phones for small groups.
Benefits: Here are some of the main benefits
of the upgrades:
-
The upgraded PTZ cameras (such
as the Sony EVI-D70 or your existing VTC cameras ) allow
you to easily move the camera to wide angle view, or to zoom in to focus
on a particular speaker or object in a conference or training room.
-
The upgraded mics allow remote
sites to more clearly hear people around the conference room table.
-
The upgraded speakers allow you
to adjust the volume so the remote site can be heard clearly in a bigger
conference room.
-
The remote sites will appear on
the large screen (via an LCD/Plasma/Projector),
so your group in the conference room can easily see them.
